Mrs. Penny Myers enjoys her role as the Middle School Student Life Coordinator as well as a middle school Bible and elective teacher. She and her husband, Brad, live in Franklin, Tennessee along with their three daughters, Mary Bradley, Marxie, and Brooke. The Myers family has enjoyed several years at GCA together as Brad is the Director of Development and the Varsity Baseball Coach and their daughters are GCA students. The Myers are members of Grace Chapel and enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, and sports.

Mrs. Myers graduated from The University of Tennessee at Martin with a BS degree in Education in Biology and from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master’s degree in Education. She has two decades of middle school and preschool classroom experience as a result of following God’s call to teach in different seasons of life. She has taught middle school science at Advent Episcopal Day School in Birmingham, AL and Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN and has taught preschool at Forest Hills Baptist Church and Bible Study Fellowship.

Having served in various positions at GCA, Mrs. Myers has seen the school grow and commit to upholding its mission to assist Christian families in the teaching of their children by providing them an experiential education that is distinctively Christian, biblically saturated, Christ glorifying, academically excellent, and service and mission oriented.

“I love studying God’s Word with middle schoolers and helping them apply the truth to their daily lives. I have also thoroughly enjoyed stepping outside of my comfort zone alongside friend and co-teacher, Christian Love, in teaching EXPLORE. This experiential outdoor classroom includes poultry farming, dog training, goat milking, horse grooming and leading, outdoor survival skills, archery, fishing, and public speaking. What fun it has been to experience something new in God’s creation everyday!”

As GCA Middle School Student Life Coordinator, her responsibility is to provide opportunities and activities for middle schoolers that focus on developing spiritual and social growth while strengthening community. GCA’s approach to strengthening middle school family life is to encourage family participation in Hand of a Warrior fellowships and community service.

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Psalm 127:3-4
