Bio

Annie Jimenez comes to GCA with a variety of teaching experiences in the U.S. and abroad. She is the daughter of missionary parents who left their careers to serve in Japan as church planters. Because of their godly example, she has grown in her relationship with her Lord Jesus, wanting to reach others with the Gospel wherever God places her (in public, private, or homeschool communities).  Annie has taught both middle and high school students with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Germany, Kenya, and Peru. It was in Peru where she met and married her husband, Walter, a mechanical engineer and teacher. They have two children, Hans (9th) and Hannah (7th) at GCA, who joined them on short missions and visits to China, Mexico, Spain, and Peru.

 

Though she holds a B.A. from Biola University and an M.A. from PLNU with certifications in educational counseling, bilingual education, music, and English, her best training has come from living in other countries, learning foreign languages, and most of all, fearing the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).  Whether teaching English or Spanish; directing choral music or camps, Annie has always integrated the study of humanities. She loves her students and enjoys helping them to think critically by identifying an author's worldview and applying rules of logic.  She is passionate about measuring the expressions of human beings against the infallible standard of God's Word.
