World Impact Month at GCA occurs in February and is focused on service and missions. Students in 6th - 12th grades have opportunities to travel locally and abroad for various mission trips to places such as Sonora, Mexico, San Jose, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Bahamas, Haiti Cincinnati, OH, Chattanooga, TN and Asheville, NC. These trips are designed to get our focus off ourselves and on the amazing work being done locally and globally for God’s Kingdom.
Spiritual formation solidifies in our students’ hearts when we serve and get to be a part of the work that God is already doing in other places. Various speakers lead our chapels during this month and talk to our students about the physical and spiritual needs of the countries where they work.
As a conclusion to World Impact Week, here is a look into a few elementary classes as they wrapped up not only their studies but also fulfilled their mission giving goals.
Third grade enjoyed a market trading day, a piñata and gathered over 40 Spanish bibles for the children of Mexico!
Mrs. Jones' fourth grade class packed hygiene bags for Nicaragua.
Amy Baker's fourth grade class raised $12,000 for Syria as well as other Middle Eastern countries in partnership with Child Evangelism Fellowship. The money will go towards reaching boys and girls with the gospel.
Fifth grade enjoyed activities featuring India and also participated in a "well" activity where they wrote letters to children in India, sampled foods and raised money to help build an actual well.
What a blessing to see all of our elementary students serving and impacting lives all over our world for Jesus Christ!
