Sheryl Kirby » Bio

Mrs. Sheryl Kirby graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a BS in Elementary Education and an emphasis on Christian Education.  She and her husband, Don, have been married for over 30 years. They have two precious daughters (Tiffany and Rileigh), two sons-in-law (Justin and Nik), and a grandson (William).

After college graduation, Sheryl taught 2nd grade in a Christian school in her home state of Indiana for one year, then married and moved to Tennessee where she taught 1st grade in Metro Nashville for six years.  When Tiffany was born, Mrs. Kirby chose to remain at home to raise her children.  She operated an in-home day-care for six years, then focused on home schooling and discipling her children.

Throughout the years she has tutored elementary children, coordinated a Franklin field trip group, and mentored other parents in home schooling/education choices.  Knowing the educating and discipling of her own children was near an end, Mrs. Kirby sought God’s leading for the next “season” of her life and was soon informed that Grace Christian Academy was in development. She has been with GCA since its opening in 2009 as a 1st grade teacher.  Mrs. Kirby understands that she is partnering with parents in the education and discipleship of the blessed children God has given.

Mrs. Kirby enjoys time with family and friends, reading and researching, walking/hiking, traveling, and listening/singing to Christian music.  She is a member of Station Hill Baptist Church.  Her lifetime verse is 1 John 4:4 “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world.”
