Bio

Bruce Anliker studied elementary education at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, graduating in 2006.  After receiving his middle school endorsement from Morningside College, he obtained his Masters in School Leadership at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA, in the spring of 2017.  Bruce found a passion for middle school students at his first job in Sibley, Iowa, teaching 8th grade history.  After spending six years teaching 7th grade geography at Sioux Center (IA) Middle School, Bruce and his family moved to Tennessee and found GCA! He has taught 7th/8th history and will be teaching 8th grade Bible this year and handling IS/MS discipline. 

After a collegiate career on the Red Raider football team, Bruce spent the last fourteen years coaching varsity football.  At Sioux Center, he helped build a program that finished as a 2013 State Semi-finalists and 2014 State Runner-up.  Besides their on-field success, Bruce was part of a tremendous coaching staff that helped high school boys grow into men of integrity.  Along with football, he has coached varsity wrestling, track, and leads the Lions' middle school baseball program.

Bruce and his wife Alex have four children: Noah, Emery, Isaiah and Oliver.  

Bruce has many verses that have spoken to him at various points of his life.  Two of his favorites are Romans 5:3-5 and James 1:2-12 dealing with perseverance and the development of character and hope.
