Bio

Music has been a part of Maribeth’s life since the age of six when she started piano lessons and singing in church.  She continued her love of music through Middle and High School where she attended Southside Christian School in Greenville, South Carolina.  She then attended Belmont University, where she majored in Music Education.  It was there that she truly realized that music would forever be a part of her life.  In addition to her love of teaching, Maribeth also developed a love of singing and playing the piano.  After graduation she spent a few years singing and traveling while recording music and earning a living through performing, substitute teaching and studio singing.  After meeting and marrying her husband, Jeremy, a musician as well, they pursued music together full time.

Maribeth started her own voice and piano studio and taught private lessons for many years.  She then became the choral director at Brentwood Academy and worked with students through choir, performing arts and select ensembles.  After three years, she made a career change and stepped into the corporate world at Sarah Cannon Research Institute where she continued her love of teaching in the training and education department.  Six years later and after the birth of her second child, she came home to be a full time mom and raise her babies. God soon called her back to teaching music at GCA in the Fall of 2017.

Maribeth and her husband live in Spring Hill. They attend The Church at Station Hill where Jeremy is the band leader and Maribeth is on worship team, in the choir, and also serves as co-leader of Kindergarten Worship on Sunday mornings.  Maribeth is delighted to be a part of GCA where she can share the gifts that God has given her.  She loves sharing music with others, especially children, and has a desire to worship God in all she does and respond to the calling He has placed on her life.  Her son Keyes and daughter Kelsey are also students at GCA.

Life Verse: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise Him with my song.” – Psalm 28:7
