Coach Herrera graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. In May 2008, Coach Herrera began to pursue his calling as a teacher, earning his Master’s Degree in Business Education at Middle Tennessee State University and his Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2018.
Prior to joining GCA, Coach Herrera served as a middle school computer technology teacher with the Franklin Special School District. During this time, he developed a passion for study in the context of technology integration within a biblical perspective. He believes it is important in teaching a biblical framework where technology is used as a tool in serving the mission of Christ.

After completing his collegiate tennis career at Eastern Kentucky University, Coach Herrera found a passion in coaching athletics. He served as the Belmont Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach from 2005-2008; head boys tennis coach at Brentwood Academy for the past 5 years; and prior to that served as the head boys and girls tennis coach at Ravenwood High School where the girls’ team won the 2011 TSSAA AAA State Title and was also named the 2011 TSSAA Tennis Coach of the Year.
Coach Herrera is married to his wife Kristi. The Lord has blessed them with 4 children: Trevor, Tyler, Jacob, and Madelyn. “I am truly blessed in having the opportunity to serve the Lord, students, and families at GCA!
