Shannon Janico » Bio

Mrs. Shannon Janico is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (BS degree in Secondary Education and U.S. History, magna cum laude).  After graduation, Shannon taught history and writing/grammar at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.  Shannon married her college sweetheart Jordan and lived in Atlanta, Georgia where Shannon taught and wrote the curriculum standards for 8th grade history at Whitefield Academy.  Shannon has a passion for middle and high school students, and she enjoys teaching analysis, written communication, and synthesis skills through the content of history.

Originally from a western suburb of Chicago, Shannon spent most summers attending, serving, and leading girls at Young Life/Wyld Life camps across the country.  One of her favorite experiences was serving at Young Life’s Malibu Camp in British Columbia where Bob Goff was her neighbor!  In her free time, Shannon publishes testimonies about Jesus from women all around the world through a blog entitled Heaven Bent Women.  She strongly believes in the power of authentic storytelling to bring people closer to Christ and trusts that God will use everything for His glory and our good.  In addition, Shannon has a passion for serving the homeless and finds great joy in helping teens hone their leadership skills, so they can “…do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8).
