Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science from the University of Southern California. She spent several years as a pediatric occupational therapist in southern California working for a private clinic. In addition to her time in the clinic, Katie also served as a school based OT for Paramount, Orange Unified and Placentia-Yorba Linda school districts. She has a keen understanding of the sensory systems of the body and how sensory integration impacts how students learn best. Her multisensory approach to learning in tandem with Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Core strengthening and handwriting skills allows Katie to help GCA students achieve their full learning potential.
Katie relocated to Tennessee when she married her husband Matt. She stepped away from formally practicing OT with the birth of their first son to be a stay at home mom. During that time, she continued to use her OT expertise as a mother while maintaining her licence to practice in both California and Tennessee.
It is with humble gratitude that Katie joined the GCA learning services team. Katie and her husband Matt live in Frankin, TN and have two sons, Lucas and Jacob, who are both GCA students. Katie enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family, all things football, and pouring into those she loves with the good news of the gospel.
