Soccer: GCA heads to state for the first time

After scoring more than 30 goals over the last five matches, Grace Christian Academy needed just one to earn the school’s first state tournament berth in girls’ soccer on Saturday.

Caroline Briley scored in the seventh minute for the Class A Sectional’s only goal in a 1-0 Lady Lions win over visiting Adamsville.

GCA improved to 13-6-1. The Lady Lions were coming off their first regional title after a 4-0 win over Harpeth on Thursday.
