Bio

Alison graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California, where she was born and raised. She began her teaching career immediately after graduation at a Christian school, where she taught third grade and kindergarten for several years. She moved to Virginia with her husband, Jody, so he could attend law school. In Virginia, Alison taught first grade at a Christian school.

Alison and Jody began having children about the same time he joined the Army as a JAG officer. While moving about the country in the midst of military life, she had the privilege to stay home with her four children and homeschooled them for three years. Before moving to Middle Tennessee, the Hursts lived in Colorado, where they served in several churches, culminating in being part of the launch team of a new church plant to a town without any gospel presence. In 2019, they answered the call to settle in Tennessee, when Jody accepted a job in Nashville.

Alison has been married to Jody since 2000 and they have four wonderful kids who all attend GCA. As a family, they love to travel, eat Mexican food, and love serving in their local church. A fun fact about her family is that all four of her kids were born in different states: Virginia, Texas, California and Arizona.
