Bio

Judy Barnette graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. and a M.S. in Mathematics. She taught at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro and Franklin High for ten years. She then stayed home for 13 years to raise their two girls, McKenzie and Haley. (McKenzie is now married and recently blessed the Barnette family with their first grandchild (which Roo-Roo and Mamie are loving!) and Haley is in pharmacy school.)

After teaching at Ravenwood High School for five years, she took a year off to take classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She really had no idea where God was leading her, but is now excited to have the opportunity to combine her two passions: teaching Mathematics and encouraging students in their Christian walk. 

She and her husband Rick are involved in their local church, Redemption City Church, a church plant of ClearView Baptist church where they were members for over 20 years. Judy’s passion is teaching, training participants of mission trips, and then actually leading the trip. She has been on over 40 national and international mission trips and is enjoying leading GCA students as they learn about missions. 

 

One of her favorite Bible passages is Hebrews 11. It's the story of the Bible in one chapter!
