BIO

Mark Woodard grew up in southern Michigan and graduated from Hillsdale College with a bachelor’s degree in education. He also completed four years of Bible seminary and intercultural training and was ordained as a minister. In 1995, he married the woman of his dreams, and together they took their young family overseas to serve as church planters among an unreached people group. After more than 20 years abroad, they settled in Franklin, TN, which they now call home. Two of Mark’s four children graduated from GCA.

Mark serves as a high school senior Bible teacher at GCA and works with a global organization that plants churches among unreached people groups. He spends several months each year in Papua New Guinea, managing a remote Christian school in the jungle, providing ongoing discipleship for tribal leaders, and leading teams of college students to the mission field to help them discover their role in the Great Commission.

Mark has a deep passion for guiding students to see a clear picture of who God is and helping them pursue Jesus with all their heart, soul, and mind. He counts it a privilege to teach Bible at GCA and prays daily that students will make their faith their own. Proverbs 3:5–6 continues to be the guiding verse for his life and ministry.
