BIO

Renee studied at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where she earned her BS in Elementary Education, and at Trevecca University in Nashville, where she earned her MS in Administration and Supervision. She began her teaching career at the Lord’s Chapel Christian Academy in Brentwood and then went to Scales Elementary, where she retired after 35 years of teaching 2nd grade. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. She loved her years of teaching elementary-age students. She knew God gave her a passion for her students and enjoyed seeing them thrive.

Renee was given the gift of adopting a little girl from China in 1997. God woke Renee up at 3:00 am on the day that her daughter was born, and God told her that her little girl was born that day. Only a year later was that confirmed, when Renee got a call from the adoption agency to tell her that her little girl was born on the day God woke her up. God has a way of letting us know his plan for our lives. My daughter’s name is Chloe Wen, and she is married to Jason, and they have a little girl, Cecelia Wen, whom they call CeCe.

Renee is serving as the librarian at GCA. She is blessed to be able to spend time with Pre-K-4th graders at GCA. God has completely blessed her by allowing her to see the love of reading instilled in every one of the students at GCA Lower School. She loves Jesus with her whole heart and wants to see every child at GCA grow to their full potential in Jesus Christ.
