BIO

Macy Schelp is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Educational Neuroscience and a minor in Biology. Her academic journey led her
to research in biomechanics and morphology, where she studied fish locomotion and ultimately published
her findings. Throughout her collegiate career, she was a member of Alabama’s women’s cross country
and track teams, competing in the 3000-meter and mile events.

Now based in Nashville, Macy is excited to begin her teaching career, where she hopes to cultivate curiosity in science, influence athletes on the track, and encourage students in their faith.

She is inspired by Romans 12:11—“Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord”—a verse she hopes will define her classroom and her approach to teaching.
