Mrs. Melinda Leake graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN in 1989 with a double B.A. major in Education and Vocal Performance. She has taught various levels of education and has spent the last eight years as an Instructional Literacy Coach at Woodland Middle School in Brentwood, TN. She has over 30 years of educational experience and knows that teaching is God’s call on her life.

Melinda and her husband, Chip, have lived in the Franklin area for 23 years. Her husband just retired as the worship pastor from Thompson Station Church where he served for 22 years. They have been active members of their community and their church, where they continue to serve and grow. They credit the Lord for their strong and faithful marriage of 37 years. The Leakes have two sons, Christian and Noah, two beautiful daughters-in law, Haley and Ashley and four precious grandchildren, Grayson, Darby, Evy and Shepherd, who also attend /will attend GCA.

One of Melinda’s favorite passages of the Bible comes from Matthew 22: 37-40: "He said to them, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets depend on these two commands.”
