GCA's 8th Annual Dodgeball Tournament

Our Annual Dodgeball Tournament is right around the corner! The tournament will be on Thursday, September 26 at the new GCA baseball field. This is the largest event we have all year and includes students and families from all age groups. It is a great way to meet new people and connect with those you already know.

Each year, we choose a need within our school community to donate the proceeds from the tournament. This year's proceeds will benefit two GCA families.

The cost to play is $15 per free agent/player or $90 per team of 6. Spectators who are not playing pay a $5 admission fee. Additional donations are welcome.

With over 70 teams competing each year, we know this can be a long night. We are restructuring the brackets to double elimination and are also adding a 3rd court. This should keep us on track with time so we don’t run so late into the evening.

Here are some of the details:

  • PK - 2nd Grade bracket will begin at 3:30 PM

  • 3rd - 5th Grade bracket will begin at 5:00 PM

  • 6th - older will begin at 6:30 PM

  • There will be an award ceremony and metals for winning teams of the PK - 2nd and 3rd - 5th Grade brackets. We will have a trophy for the winners of the 6th - 8th Grade and adult brackets. We will take pictures of the winners at the end of each tournament.

  • We will have food trucks from Mojo’s Tacos, Pizza, Smokey Dawggs, and Sweethaven. Our food truck vendors donate a portion of proceeds to our fundraiser as well.

  • Any PK through 5th Grade students interested in playing dodgeball may sign up as a free agent. We will create 6 player coed teams from the list of students who sign up.  Once teams are assigned, you will be notified of your student(s) teammates so you can create a team name and work on their team attire. We should have all teams assigned by Friday, September 6, giving you almost 3 weeks to coordinate these things.

  • Participants in the 6th - 8th Grade and HS & Older Brackets may sign up as a team or as a free agent. Free agents will be assigned a team with other free agents of similar age. Free agents will be contacted to let them know who his/her teammates are once a team is assigned.
