BIO
Melissa grew up on Hilton Head Island, SC, but moved to Brentwood, Tennessee for her last year of high school. She met her now-husband while volunteering at a camp the summer before she moved, and then stayed local while getting her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Belmont University. Melissa then earned her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca University and completed her practicum at Daystar Counseling.
Melissa has loved being involved in the GCA community as a parent, volunteer, and substitute teacher, and now can't wait to get started as an Elementary Guidance Counselor. To be able to support and equip GCA students and families through a Biblical lens is such a blessing!
Melissa and her husband have two elementary kids at GCA, Marlo and Jameson, and a toddler at home, Hugh. When she's not at school, Melissa likes cooking big meals and reading.
