BIO
Teresa Cummings was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She graduated with her BA in Liberal Studies from Fresno Pacific University. Teresa taught 5th grade for 8 years and middle school English the last 2 years at Maple Elementary in Shafter, California. She begins her 11th year here at Grace Christian Academy and is excited to be able to incorporate her faith into her daily teaching! Her love for teaching started with preschoolers which she taught many years ago before having her children, and her love for students and their walk with the Lord started over 30 years ago when she married her husband Brent who was a Youth Pastor and so began their ministry together to help students grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.
She and her family just recently moved to the state of Tennessee this July and they reside in Spring Hill, together with her husband and two of their grown children Cody and Brooke. Her oldest daughter MaKenna, also lives in Spring Hill with her husband Luis, and their new son Ren. Teresa is enjoying her new role as “Grammie.” When she is not teaching she loves to spend time with her family, play games, watercolor paint, read, and now explore her beautiful new state.
Teresa is looking forward to watching her students grow in their academics this year and she is also praying that her students grow in their relationship with the Lord and learn to trust in him daily. Her class verse for this year is: “For we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
