Bio

Mrs. LuAnn Walker majored in elementary education and minored in coaching, receiving her BS in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University in 1989. She has over 20 years of classroom experience in Christian schools in North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee, having taught a variety of elementary grade levels as well as some middle school and high school classes. She has been a lead teacher, a mentor, and served on several school committees. She has also spent the last few years conducting “craft clubs” for elementary children twice a week and loves all things related to history. She spent the summers of 1988 and 1989 serving on mission with a team from Bob Jones University conducting VBS, Bible camps, back yard Bible studies for children, and working in several churches and Christian schools on Oahu and Kauai.

LuAnn is originally from Statesville, NC, and her husband David is from Norton, Va. They have been married since 1999 and have two boys, Daniel and Sean. The Walkers are newer to the Franklin area, having moved here from the Tri-Cities area of East Tennessee. Mr. Walker works as a Senior Database Administrator with a local company.  He is also an avid runner. The Walkers were actively involved in their church in Gray, TN and are searching for the place the Lord has for them in to worship and serve here in Middle Tennessee. LuAnn not only has a passion for teaching children but also for women’s ministry. She loves to share “real” life with her friends and women’s groups by sharing practical helps from God’s word interspersed with humor. Her favorite Christian speaker is Patsy Clairmont who inspires her to be more like Jesus while at the same time reminding her that laughter is good for the soul. LuAnn’s favorite verse is Nahum 1:7. “The Lord is good; a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in Him.”

The Walkers are excited to be part of the GCA family and look forward to a great year in Christian education.
