Summer Reading 2026 (Grades K-12th)

Kindergarten - 4th Grade Summer Reading

Did you know that when we don’t read over the summer, our brains can forget some of what we learned? That’s called the summer slide, and we do not want to let that happen!

Instead, we’re going to grow stronger, smarter, and more imaginative, one book at a time.

Think of reading like exercise for your mind. The more you do it, the stronger you get!

So grab a book, find a cozy spot, and start your adventure.
Let’s see how many of you can rise to the challenge and become Summer Reading Champions!

Rising Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders:

Please print, fill out the reading log on both sides, and turn it in the first week of school for a prize.

Rising 3rd Graders:

Ready, Freddy! The Reading Race by Abby Klein (Required)

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown (Optional)

Complete a row of any five boxes (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), record the names of the books and authors on the Bingo sheet, and remember to have parents sign it. Return the completed Bingo card in August to earn a special prize!

Rising 4th Graders: 

4th-grade students are asked to become Reading Detectives, complete the Book in a Bag assignment, and the (optional) Reading Bingo Card. 

Reading Detectives - choose a mystery from: The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Boxcar Children, or The Sugar Creek Gang, and complete the Book in a Bag Assignment. 

Rising 3rd and 4th grade - BINGO (Optional)

Complete a row of any five boxes (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), record the names of the books and authors on the Bingo sheet, and remember to have parents sign it. Return the completed bingo card in August for a special prize!
