Bio

From childhood, Carmen had two desires in life- to become a teacher and a mom. God fulfilled both desires, leading her to Freed-Hardeman University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in early childhood. Carmen met her future husband there too. After graduating, she married and taught kindergarten in Florida, Virginia, and Tennessee all while her husband completed his medical training.

Carmen gave up full-time teaching the day her firstborn son arrived but continued her passion for teaching through the years in various ways – volunteering in schools, teaching children’s Bible classes at church, facilitating Ladies’ Bible classes, teaching English to immigrants, and co-leading a community children’s Bible study. She is very excited to be back in the school environment, especially at GCA, where she can demonstrate light and love to students so they may be able to see the love of Christ through her.

Carmen and her husband, Kendle, have three grown sons, two new daughters-in-law, and one daughter, Lily, who attends GCA. Their family has been involved with foreign missions, including Honduras and Guatemala, for many years, and hopes to include Lily soon.

Love all; please ONE.
