BIO

Kelly Rogers is excited to be part of the GCA family as a high school Spanish teacher. She has 12
years experience teaching all levels of high school Spanish. She has a Bachelor of Science with a
major in Recreational Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of
Science from Memphis State University in Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling.
Kelly and her husband, David, have recently relocated from Memphis to the Nashville area.
They were church planters in Spain for over 18 years, where she also taught ESL, led Bible
studies, and was the language-learning coach for new missionaries. Their two sons and a
daughter-in-law live in Memphis.

Kelly takes a communicative approach to learning, encouraging students to participate in
speaking activities centered around everyday life. She especially enjoys teaching about the
different cultures in the Spanish-speaking world and using storytelling as a way for students to
acquire language skills by immersion. Her desire is to see students know Christ and develop and
use their gifts and talents to make a difference in this world. She loves getting to know her
students and enjoys creating community in the classroom where there are games, laughter, and
fun. She enjoys game nights with friends and family, cooking international dishes, and watching
Memphis Tigers and the Grizzlies with her family.
