BIO

Though a native of South Carolina, Tarah and her family moved to the Franklin area in 2020 and can't imagine calling anywhere else home.  Tarah obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and went on to receive a master's degree in Counselor Education from Clemson University.  She recently completed her Ph.D. in Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands and is also a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and National Board Certified School Counselor.  She served as a high school counselor for 12 years and most recently as an elementary school counselor for two years before taking time off with her children.

Tarah is married to James Underwood, and they have two children, Ava and Cross, who both attend GCA. Tarah is excited to join the GCA staff doing what she is most passionate about, serving families and students in reaching their post-secondary goals, growing in their relationship with Christ, and discovering their unique role in being the hands and feet of Jesus!
