Lindsey is excited to be teaching 3rd grade once again at GCA! She is originally from Grand Rapids, MI, but fled the cold winters and moved south for college. After earning her degree in Elementary Education (k-8) from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, she went on to complete her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work (with an emphasis in school social work) from the University of Tennessee. Just before coming to GCA, she worked from home developing k-8th grade curriculum for a charter school company. Before that, she taught in a wide variety of school settings (even getting to do her student teaching in Ghana), but being here at GCA has felt like home for Lindsey. She feels blessed to love what she does each and every day.
Lindsey is actively involved at her church, The Bridge (in Spring Hill), where her husband Craig is the executive pastor of operations. Lindsey and Craig have three children who are all students at GCA: Greyson, Selah, and Crew. Together they love to play on the beaches of Lake Michigan, hike around Radnor Lake, explore new breakfast spots in and around Nashville, and sip coffee (or hot chocolate) on their back porch.
It brings Lindsey so much joy to see her students grow in knowledge each year, but above all else, she loves seeing them grow in the Lord and in their love for others. Each year she prays the following verse over each of her third graders:
"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever." 2 Peter 3:18
